Gwen Stevenson

Gwen Stevenson is a visual artist working in Mid Ulster, Northern Ireland. Her practice spans immersive and extended reality (XR), generative art, experimental film, interactive installations, and durational performance. She explores intersections of embodiment, technology, and storytelling, with particular interest in conflict legacy, ecological systems, and socially engaged practice. Her work combines site-specific, participatory, and research-led approaches to foster reflection, dialogue, and community connection.

Recent projects include The Game Plays You, Mediated Bodies, and Memorial/UnMemorial, a year-long durational performance marking the Good Friday Agreement anniversary. Gwen also facilitates workshops, mentoring, and knowledge exchange for artists, supporting accessibility and co-creation in immersive practice. She has exhibited internationally, including in Berlin, Buenos Aires, and throughout Ireland, and continues to develop team-based, large-scale immersive projects that integrate technology, storytelling, and social engagement. Upcoming residencies include the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, and Art Arcadia, Derry.
