Aoife Dunne (b. 1995, Dublin) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice investigates the dynamic intersection between physical and virtual spaces through immersive installations that integrate sculpture, video, sound, performance, costume, and technology. Drawing inspiration from digital culture, surrealism, fantasy, and social critique, her research centers on technology’s profound impact, with a dedicated exploration of its transformative effects on identity and community.
Her installations create vibrant, multi-sensory environments designed to challenge and expand conventional perceptions of self and place by blurring the boundaries between the material and immaterial. Using improvisation, interactivity, and digital innovation, Aoife generates surreal, often otherworldly experiences that seek to redefine the evolving relationship between art, technology, and embodiment.
Aoife’s work is informed by a commitment to questioning how emerging technologies reshape human perception and social connection, addressing both the potentials and paradoxes of digital immersion. Her approach melds critical theory with intuitive processes, crafting spaces where viewers are invited to inhabit liminal zones between the physical and virtual, reality and fantasy.
Residency period: July - October 2025.
