Deadline: 14th February 2017
DAS is the only organisation of its kind in Belfast, distinct in its range of activities and crucial to Belfast’s arts infrastructure.
DAS promotes the convergence of art and technology and provides invaluable access to the resources essential to the production of and engagement with digital arts. It provides access to digital imaging and audio equipment and software and delivers training in their use. It runs a full programme of national and international artists residencies, public talks, exhibitions and screenings as well as facilitating outreach activities.
Since 2011, DAS’s opening hours have increased from three days to five days a week. We have relocated and drastically improved our premises, increased usage by 300%, and more than doubled our earned income. We have improved profile, visibility and transformed DAS into a successful and vibrant organisation. We are hosting more artists than we have places for in our current premises and have made adjustments to accommodate the demand.
However, looking to the future we aim to expand and improve the studios further, maintaining the growth achieved over the previous five years. Our strategic plan will look at increasing the size of our premises in order to provide more space and resources for more artists and to improve what we have on offer: to achieve our vision of providing a state-of- the-art resource for Belfast. We aim to begin implementing our plans by mid 2018. If you are interested in supporting our mission and in being a part of the strategic development of the organisation then we want to hear from you.
Commitment required: A minimum of three two-hour meetings and a possible further commitment of 1 hour per month depending on representation on working groups.
Please send a recent CV and a short statement expressing your interest in the role, to Angela Halliday via email firstname.lastname@example.org by the 14th of February 2017.
